How It Works
Simple steps to find your perfect vessel
Letter of Intent (LOI)
The Buyer submits a Letter of Intent on company letterhead to the Seller, formally requesting permission to inspect the vessel. The Buyer's inspectors also provide a Letter of Indemnity and passport copies to the Seller's side.
Pre-Purchase Inspection
An independent surveyor — chosen by the Buyer or jointly agreed — carries out a pre-purchase survey of the vessel. This covers the vessel's physical condition, class records, and maintenance history.
Firm Offer & Negotiation
If the Buyer is satisfied with the survey results, they submit an outright firm purchase offer. Both parties then negotiate price, terms and conditions through the broker until agreement is reached.
MOA & Commission Agreement
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is signed — typically on Norwegian Saleform (NSF). Simultaneously, the Brokers' Commission Agreement is executed between all parties.
Deposit
The Buyer remits the deposit — typically 10% of the agreed purchase price — to the Seller or into an escrow account, within the timeframe set out in the MOA.
Delivery Preparation
The Seller issues the Delivery Notice per MOA terms. Both parties prepare their respective delivery documents. The Buyer arranges flag registration, crew arrival and any other formalities required before taking over the vessel.
Balance Payment & Closing
The Buyer remits the balance (90%) together with ROB (Remaining on Board — bunkers, lubes, etc.) payment. Both parties sign the Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance (PODA) and exchange all closing documents.
